Oh this newborn lifestyle session is something special.
Those daily book readings. Dad’s unique ability to find those hidden tickle spots. Favorite spot beach spot. Genuine smiles. Sisterly kisses. Joy. Happiness. Love. This session had it all. The resulting images captured from this Lifestyle Family Session in Ventura California were absolute perfection.
As a visual storyteller, there’s a responsibility for me to help families feel at ease in front of the camera, while also providing instruction and direction for posing and body position. Whether it’s posed studio-style images or the more candid, everyone-pile-on-the-bed settings, there’s always a story to tell. This family made that job too easy. Little Miss J and I were pretty much instant friends from the start. This led to an immediate connections with mom and dad.
Needless to say, Miss J kind of stole the show with her loving personality and playful nature. Truth be told, this session was all about this beautiful family welcoming their newest member, Mr. A. He was a happy dude the entire 2 hours session, only needing a quick feeding half way through to power through the rest of his session!

Not only was the T Family on point with their wardrobe, but the house was polished and perfectly style with a modern, minimalistic feel. And the rug in the nursery!!! Ready to roll it up and take it home with me. But my absolutely favorite part of the whole house (and we didn’t end up using the room) was the wall paper in the dinning room! I was ready to move in the second I walked in their front door!
The session truly came together when Dad (with 30-minutes remaining) asked if we could finish up at the beach. And when it takes 5-minutes to drive to their favorite spot, the answer is always, heck yes!
The session ended and I was ready to have lunch with mom and invite the whole family over for game night! It really is something amazing, connecting with amazing families, getting to be a part of their family for an hour or two, and leave them with portraits that tell their family story.
