Success!!!! A new blog post before my last one is a year old; check off that New Year’s resolution!!
And, it’s not that I dislike blogging. Quit the contrary. I actually love going through a recent session, selecting my favorites to share, even just for my enjoyment as I look back on the wonderful clients I’ve worked with. The tough thing is finding the time. With all that comes with starting a business AND becoming a mom, blog posts fell to the bottom of my to do list. But, I did make it a New Year’s resolution that I would share a blog post before the last one was a year old. That my friends, has been accomplished and I feel might proud about it.
This session is near and dear to my heart. This lovely lady and her sweet family are very very special friends and while she moved to Mission Viejo over a year ago, she still honors me with the opportunity of photographing her family. I’m not too sure how I’ll handle it when these four move to Arizona! I guess I’ll finally have a reason to sign up for the hand lettering class in Gilbert, AZ that I’ve been longing to take.
Knowing that Sarah was looking to get family portraits taken, and we do it at least once a year, I asked her if she would be up for a “styled” family session. She and her boys have a love affair with Disneyland and I think I can safely say that they go almost once a week (granted it’s about a 15 minute drive for them). So, to make something that captured what they do as a family, at this stage in their life, I asked for a “Neverland” session; perfect for little boys who can quickly lose interest in having their picture taken pretty quickly. The props we incorporated kept the boys entertained and gave me lots of smiles. The best part was the text message I received from Sarah the next day, saying that her oldest woke up asking his dad to make him a pirate ship like he had during the session. Photographer win!
